About the Campaign/Message from the President

Since its beginning in 1851, Catawba College has sent thousands of graduates into the world. Catawba, the sixth oldest college in North Carolina, has prepared its graduates for rewarding personal and professional lives. Our graduates pursue lives of purpose and contribute to society in meaningful ways.

With this campaign, Catawba College seeks to ensure growth in program offerings and student enrollment for well into the future.  We will grow our existing programs and launch new, cutting-edge degrees. We will reach the next generation of students – tomorrow’s leaders, who face many challenges in our changing world. As campaign co-chairman Dan Bross, Class of ’71, says: “There has never been a time when a liberal arts education was more important.”

As Catawba President Brien Lewis says: “it all comes down to one word: Growth. Making sure that we are a viable, sustainable, and distinctive institution.”

This is our promise to students: “A transformative education with inspiring people in a place where you belong.”

This campaign is all about getting us to tomorrow. It touches all phases of college life. It assures us that we will continue to educate the whole person and to help all of our students reach their full potential.

We call upon all of our alumni and friends  — individuals, corporations, foundations — to contribute their talent, their time, and their finances to this worthwhile effort. Together, we can  improve the world, one student at a time.

Donations may be made over a 5-year period.
